Paper making is an important part of Bhutanese culture and tradition. In the past, people produced paper at home, but now there is a small factory in Bhutan where paper is made using traditional methods.
The main raw materials for the paper are the bark of the Daphne Papyri tree and the Edgeworthia plant. Both grow at high altitudes in the Himalayas.
The paper is very strong and suitable for many creative purposes. It is 100% environmentally friendly, partly because only natural dyes are used.
